About Us
Southdowns retirement village is a unique development set in 17.5 acres of the Kent Countryside, whilst retaining the charms of village life in its own community.
Although in the countryside Southdowns is very conveniently situated indeed. We are just 4 miles from Dartford and around 6 miles from the Bluewater shopping centre both of which can be easily reached from the local bus service which stops inside our village.
Our village comprises of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and bungalows spread out in our beautiful grounds. Southdowns offers completely independent living in self contained accommodation.
There has been some negative press about some retirement developments where some pensioners or their estates have found it difficult to re sell and have sometimes lost a lot of money on re-sales (when compared with what they paid when the property was purchased) However Southdowns has always been very popular with 55 sales in the 5 years to May 2024 with an average gain of 47% or £72,000 per property.
